Why may Taylor Swift testify in the Blake Lively trial?

If you have been living under a rock, in December 2024, Lively, 37, filed a lawsuit against her It Ends With Us co-star and the movie’s director, Justin Baldoni. In the lawsuit, she accused him of sexual harassment and suggested he went on a smear campaign to tarnish her name in the press after the movie was released.
In some instances, she alleged that Baldoni improvised intimate scenes and made inappropriate comments about her weight, among other things. Her lawyers claimed this was in response to Lively trying to address misconduct allegations on-set, which were allegedly discussed in a meeting detailed in the lawsuit.

In response, Baldoni, 41, and his lawyers denied the claims. He countersued Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, 48, for $400 million. He accused them of civil extortion, defamation, and invasion of privacy. Also, Baldoni states that Lively attempted to take over creative control of the production through threats and false allegations.
The trial is set for 9 March 2026 and will be another high-profile case.
As for Swift testifying, she may testify because she is good friends with both Lively and Reynolds, and her song My Tears Ricochet is on the film’s soundtrack, which ties in to her creative involvement with it.
So…will Swift testify?

Reportedly, Swift was named as one of the people who could be made to testify in the case. Her close ties are thought to be the reason. Meanwhile, Ryan Reynolds’ friend Hugh Jackman, 56, may also be made to testify. Reynolds and Jackman starred in Deadpool & Wolverine together, where there was an alleged parody of Baldoni done by Reynolds, which could be a part of the trial.

As for the evidence of Jackman and Swift testifying, a source told The Daily Mail that the two are bound to be served soon.
The source said they’d “most definitely be served this week,” making their testimonies likely.
Furthermore, the source discussed that Lively and Swift haven’t been spotted together after the legal disaster came to light. Reports say the last time they were spotted together was in October 2024 on a double date with their partners, Reynolds and Travis Kelce, 35.
However, no media outlets have confirmed the 35-year-old’s involvement in the lawsuit yet, so all we can do is wait.
