Director unpacks Technoblade Minecraft movie scene

The Technoblade reference in A Minecraft Movie is blink-and-you’ll-miss-it. It’s more of an Easter Egg, taking the form of a pig wearing a crown – a nod to Technoblade’s well-known Minecraft avatar.
The moment appears during one of the movie’s villager scenes and many eagle-eyed fans noticed it.
According to Hess, the tribute was the idea of one of the movie’s young stars, Sebastian Hansen. He plays Henry in the film.
“A really, really sweet, special nod to Technoblade”
“One of my favorite Easter eggs came from Sebastian, who plays Henry,” Hess told the movie site Collider.
“When we were prepping the film, he was like, “Look, there’s this amazing Minecraft player named Technoblade who passed away, and I would love to be able to honor him somehow in the film.”
“We were like, “Oh my goodness, of course.” So we spoke with our design team, and there’s a really, really sweet, special nod to Technoblade in the film that is really cool.”
