- Season 1 of The Last Of Us broke viewing figure records on HBO
- Fans do not have long to wait for season 2 to drop
- Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey are set to return for season 2

Fans of HBO’s horror hit The Last Of Us have been eagerly awaiting the second season of the show since 2023 – and now we know their wait is nearly over.
Spring 2025
HBO’s chairman, Casey Bloys, has said that the second season will be on our screens in “spring 2025”.
The second season of the show was greenlit just after the first season broke viewing records on HBO in early 2023. Production on the new series began earlier this year and, by the update from Bloys, has progressed well.
The Last Of Us is based on the popular video game series. It is set in a future where a pandemic that causes those infected to become zombie-like creatures has caused the collapse of society.
The stars of season one, Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, will reprise their roles as Joel and Ellie respectively. They will be joined by a range of stars including Young Mazino, Isabela Merced, Danny Ramirez, Spencer Lord and Catherine O’Hara.
Ramsey has teased that the second season of the show will be “darker” than the first. She added that it is a story about revenge, “and a continuation from the first season about the dangers of unconditional love,” she said.
Pascal overload
With this news, it means we will be seeing a lot of Pascal on theater and TV screens over the coming months. Pascal is starring in Gladiator II, which hits theaters on November 22. The hugely anticipated sequel has recently had its premiere and, thus far, the reviews from critics have been overwhelmingly positive.
Pascal is also currently working on The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which will be the latest version of the iconic superhero team on film. He will play Reed Richards – aka Mister Fantastic – in the film that is slated for release in July next year. Currently, details about the film are few and far between – but you can read what we do know here.
