Walton Goggins was rushed to the hospital after being bitten by a snake while filming The White Lotus in Thailand.

*Warning spoilers for The White Lotus follow below*

While in the show, it might have been Rick’s girlfriend Chelsea (Aimee Lou Wood) who was taken for emergency medical care after Walton Goggins’ character Rick unleashed the reptile. In real life, Goggins was actually the one taken for medical care.

Along with the need for treatment, the Fall Out star was really going through it due his dehabilitating fear of the creature, dubbing it “a missing link” in his brain.

“I don’t just have a phobia, it is like a missing link when it comes to snakes.

“I am terrified of snakes, really, really terrified, and there’s something genetically wrong with me when it comes to snakes,” Goggins said while appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

How did Walton Goggins get bitten by a snake while filming The White Lotus?

Goggins detailed how he was warned not to touch some of the snakes to be deployed in a scene

“When we were getting ready to do that very first scene… they walked you through the entire experience, they’re walking around the cages, and they’re like, ‘Don’t touch this cage because this snake will kill you. This cage here, there’s some snakes in here, but just don’t touch the brown ones, and there’s green ones here and this cage, don’t open that one.'”

‘All I’m thinking about is the very first cage where the snake will kill you, don’t open that, and the rest of it just goes out of my mind.”

‘Then they yell “Action”. And it’s like, “Don’t open the first one because they’ll kill you”. The next one, was it green or was it brown? Which one has a big, big bite?’

He revealed: ‘I started to pull the green one and as I was pulling the snake out he didn’t want to come. So the snake turns around and he bit me.

What happened next?

Goggins detailed his next steps, telling Jimmy Kimmel, “I swear to God, it was like, “Oh my God, I’ve been bit by a snake! Oh my God!'”

He was then given an antibiotic ointment, Neosporin, before being urged to go to the hospital despite the snake’s bite not being poisonous.

I finally got it out of my system, like, “You’re okay.” The next day, I get a phone call from the producer saying, ‘Hey, you know what? We’ve been thinking about it and we’re thinking maybe you should go to the hospital,” Goggins continued.

Afterwards, he was let out after he signed a waiver and sent back to set.

What has Walton Goggins said about Rick and Chelsea’s age-gap relationship?

The 53-year-old actor recently took aim at those who condemn the age difference between his and Wood’s characters.

“I think that’s such a cheap observation, the much younger girlfriend. That’s a waste of time and a distraction, to be quite honest with you,” Goggins told The Telegraph.

The Righteous Gemstones star continued that “if you believe in that sort of thing” their connection could represent “a connection between two souls who’ve been walking this earth for maybe thousands of years.”

At the time of filming at the Koi Samui Four Seasons, the Sex Education actress was 29. Much about their relationship is secret, but they did have an intimate sex scene in the second episode.
