One of the biggest viral TikTok sensations of the year – Reesa Teesa’s ‘Who TF Did I Marry?’ – is being adapted into a TV show.

Variety reported that Natasha Rothwell is developing the series under her Big Hattie Productions banner for ABC Signature. Reesa Teesa – real name Tareasa Johnson – is set to star in the series.

Viral videos

Reesa Teesa hit fame earlier this year when she posted a series of 50 videos on TikTok titled ‘Who TF did I marry?’ In the videos, Reesa Teesa revealed how a “pathological liar” – who she referred to only as Legion – allegedly conned her into a relationship.

The pair first met on a dating site in 2020 and hit it off instantly. The pair moved in together soon after due to the COVID pandemic. Legion then said they could buy a house as he had money in an offshore bank account.

Legion also promised Reesa luxury holidays, but none of these came to pass – there would always be something that cropped up to scupper their plans. As this went on, Reesa became more suspicious and she started investigating – she has a degree in criminal justice – with surprising consequences.

Variety said the videos have had more than 450 million impressions across social media and earned Reesa Teesa more than 3 million followers.

Legion has since been revealed to be Jerome McCoy. He has denied the allegations made in the TikTok videos.

Busy schedule

Rothwell will also be an executive producer on the show. This is a busy time for her – next week her new comedy show ‘How to Die Alone’ airs on Hulu.

No timescale for when the show will hit screens has been announced yet.
