- After being gifted a croissant-shaped lamp, one TikTok user returned home from work to find it crawling with ants
- In a hilarious video that went viral on the social media app, she can be seen taking a bite out of the lamp to check if it is pastry
- Viewers went wild in the comments for the video

Picture this: you come home from work one day, to find the lamp that was gifted to you by your loved ones is crawling with ants.
And while it may be in the shape of a croissant, that doesn’t explain why the insects are so attracted to the item… or does it?
This is the conundrum TikTok user ‘Froginahatgirl’ found herself and her lamp – from Temu, a budget shopping website – in this week.
In a video that has now garnered 13.3 million views, and 1.4 million likes, the puzzled creator shared the wild story with her viewers.
“I came home from work after a hot day and there were like, hundreds of ants underneath it. I was like, ‘Why the f*** would ants want a fake croissant?’”, she revealed. “I’m almost wondering if this is a literal real croissant covered in resin, because they were going in the holes. I just poked a bigger hole, and it lowkey looks like a f***ing croissant under there.”
After splitting the lamp in half, the TikTok user exclaimed, “Are you actually joking me? That looks like f***ing pastry, look at the crumbs.”
And while the evidence she had presented was proof enough to viewers that she was right, she didn’t stop there – and took a bite of some of the lamp.
“It’s literally f***ing food,” she confirmed.
‘Technically, they didn’t lie’
Of course, social media users went wild for the hilarious video.
“Did she just eat the Temu croissant lamp?” one baffled user commented, while another joked, “R u ok babe? You barely touched your TEMU croissant lamp.”
Others followed suit.
“Technically they didn’t lie – it’s a croissant lamp,” someone pointed out, as another helpfully added, “I can explain! You bought something from Temu.”
While others laughed about tasting the product “after the ants had their share”, others shared their own experiences.
“I have a chicken nugget keyring from Temu and I’ve always been convinced it’s a real nugget in resin,” said one, while another worried, “I gotta check my cat lamp I got from Temu…”
‘I’m pretty sure that’s poisonous!’
While there’s no denying that the whole debacle was hilarious, what’s slightly less funny is that Froginahatgirl potentially subjected herself to poisonous resin.
“Hey! Eating possible uncured resin croissant is actually crazy…” grimaced one viewer, as another agreed, “Eating uncured resin is wild.”
Someone else said, “If it’s covered in resin, I’m pretty sure that’s poisonous lol.”
Thankfully, there doesn’t seem to be any lasting damage – as the content creator posted an update later in the week which showed her frolicking in nature and eating pastries which, crucially, weren’t covered in resin!
“When you’re supposed to be dead from resin poisoning,” she joked in the caption.
