The new pope was crowned after a brief conclave with 133 cardinals voting in Vatican City.

Obviously, the internet was alive with reactions as the Catholic church secured the successor to Pope Francis. The late pontiff passed away aged 88 on Easter Monday. Memes were free-flowing about the results. A considerable chunk of it centred on Cardinal Robert Provost – his previous name – hailing from the United States, making him the first American pope.

Is Beyonce related to the new pope?

Well, no official word has been given if Beyonce is actually related to the new pope. However, it seems a safe bet to give this a simple.

Beyonce and Pope Leo XIV just seem to share a Creole heritage. The ethnic group is found in the US state of Louisiana, where the Break My Soul singer’s father is from. However, this didn’t stop more online speculation.
