The Ibsen-obsessed book lover comes to work in Joe’s bookshop and ends up becoming his latest obsession. However, she’s got an awareness of his character that he couldn’t have foreseen and consequently, her ulterior motives become clearer.

Orange Is The New Black
One of Brewer’s big early roles came in her early twenties at the dawn of Netflix. She played Tricia in the first season of the black comedy-drama show, one of the youngest inmates in the women’s prison that the show centers around.
Tricia had frequently committed theft, but made a vow to herself to one day pay back every business for what she took from them. She also struggles with drug addiction and dies when she overdoses on Oxycontin. Upon discovering her body, a guard attempted to make it look like a suicide.
Hemlock Grove
Brewer played the recurring character Miranda Cates in ten episodes across the second and third seasons of Hemlock Grove. The Netflix horror franchise examines the strange happenings in Hemlock Grove, a fictional town in Pennsylvania.
Black Mirror
The actress appeared in Men Against Fire, a 2016 episode of the third season of Black Mirror. She plays “Hunter” Raiman, a soldier in a futuristic military force that hunts humanoid mutant creatures called roaches. However, things began to unravel thanks to complications with the neural implants the soldiers are wearing.
The Handmaid’s Tale
Brewer’s arguably most significant role so far in her career was as Janine in The Handmaid’s Tale. During the show, she is missing her right eye, which was cut out due to her initial rebelliousness towards authority figures when she became a Handmaid.
Janine is a sweet and almost ditzy character, who protagonist June (Elisabeth Moss) has a soft spot for, as does Aunt Lydia (Ann Dowd) against her better judgment. She also struggles with trauma and mental stability. The sixth and final season is currently airing on Hulu.
