Google Year in Search 2024 has arrived! It is the search engine’s way of rounding off the year that’s just been by showcasing exactly what we have been looking up on the internet.

Think Spotify Wrapped, but for when you’ve been told to “Oh, just Google it”.

2024 has been a year like no other. It has been marked by many events like the Paris Olympics, the re-election of Donald Trump and a string of other stories; we thought it would be good to break down the top entertainment trends.

Here are the top Entertainment searches on the Google Year In Search 2024.

Top actors on Google Year in Search 2024

Katt Williams most likely grabbed the actor’s top spot in Google Year in Search through his mouthy podcast, Katt Williams Unleashed and his Netflix comedy special, Woke Foke.

Actor and politician Pawan Kalyan got second while Nobody Wants This star Adam Brody got third.

Ella Purnell’s star turn in Sweetpea most likely helped her land fourth on the list, while Indian actress Hina Khan came fifth.

Top movies on Google Year in Search 2024

Pixar’s follow-up to the 2015 original, Inside Out 2, was the top trending film on Google.

It was trailed by the superhero duo Deadpool & Wolverine.

Emerald Fennell’s posh romp Saltburn feels like a natural second, followed by Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.

Fifth place was Timothee Chalamet’s return as Paul Atreides in Dune: Part Two.

Top musicians on Google Year in Search 2024

Diddy getting embroiled in a legal indictment related to historic allegations probably got himself the status of the most Googled musician. The music mogul hasn’t released music in years.

Usher’s name being connected to the case might have ranked him second. However, he also performed an iconic Super Bowl halftime show back in February.

The resurrection of emo hip-hop group Linkin Park got them the third spot. They reunited following the death of Chester Bennington.

Fourth place was snatched by pop princess Sabrina Carpenter. Justin Timberlake took fifth.

Do we know about the top songs?

Kendrick Lamar’s Not Like Us set the internet alight. The Drake diss track sparked days of rap beef, five Grammy nominations and the top-searched song of 2024.

K-pop star Rose and Bruno Mar’s collab APT. came second. The lowest spot on the podium was taken by Bling-Bang-Bang-Born from Creepy Nuts.

YouTuber-turned-boxer-turned-rapper KSI snagged the fourth most-searched song with Thick of It.

Obviously, the inescapable and catchy Espresso by Sabrina Carpenter got fifth.

What about the top TV shows?

Netflix’s Baby Reindeer was certain to take the top spot with his haunting depiction of sexual assault and trauma. It being based on a true story probably propelled much of the interest.

Fallout on Amazon Prime was the second most-searched TV show, a likely outcome for a popular video game adaptation.

House of the Dragon, the HBO prequel to Game of Thrones, earned a third ranking.

The Hindi-language Netflix period drama Heeramandi took fourth while Shogun was the fifth most-searched.
