The Oscars 2025 is set to make cinematic history when it all kicks off on Sunday night.

Films like Emilia Perez, Wicked, A Complete Unknown and many more are set to go up against each other in the diverse array of categories. With host Conan O’Brien, the 97th Academy Awards will happen at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

As like with lots of these things, most of the fun of the Oscars 2025 is in the build-up to the main event. To mark the occasion, they have released a ‘class photo’ and as per usual, the internet had lots of say about the piece of future movie history.

Some noticed the talent up for their first Academy Award

A bit of fuss was made over the stars up for their first award at the most prestigious night in Hollywood cinema.

“First timers,” one person wrote, before listing off The Substance star and Best Actress nominee Demi Moore, Wicked’s Best Supporting Actress nod Ariana Grande and Sebastian Stan. The Best Actor nominee got the nod for his turn as Donald Trump in The Apprentice.

They also acknowledged Timothee Chalamet, who is up for the Best Actor award for playing Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown. The James Mangold movie is all about his coming up in the New York folk scene and his switch to electric.

The comparisons to one of the nominated films

One person made the very apt and funny point about how the image looked like a scene from Conclave. The papal thriller is up for eight awards,” including Best Picture, Best Actor for Ralph Fiennes and Best Supporting Actress for Isabella Rosellini.

The person asked,”Why does this look like that one scene in Conclave?”

The Timothee Chalamet love

Much was made about Chalamet, whose work promoting his film had won him many fans. Highlights have included arriving to premieres on Lime Bikes, dressing as Dylan and showing off his sport stat knowledge on podcasts.

“Never stop being you Timothee,” one person asked.

“MY STUDDDDDD,” someone wrote.

“Timothée is posing lol,” someone said.

Let’s have a little love for the ladies of the Oscars 2025!

A lot of the reaction was gratitude for the fantastic women nominated. These celebrations included Zoe Saldana, Mikey Madison, Monica Barbaro, Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande.

“Goregous ladies sit at front row,” someone said.

“I ONLY KNOW THEM,” a probable Wicked stan wrote about Eviro and Grande.

Fernanda Torres love was also plenty. She is the Best Actress category for her work in I’m Still Here.

A user enthused, “OUR WINNER! FERNANDA TORRES!”

The calm before the potential snub storm at Oscars 2025

Some joked that everyone was able to remain cordial because all the claws were due to come out.
