Benny Blanco and Selena Gomez have been dating for a while and their relationship has been public ever since. Gomez, who has been famous since she was a teenager, surprised fans when she stepped out with Blanco. Partly fans were surprised by the relationship because Blanco, a music producer, used to write songs with Gomez’s ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber. However, the two are going strong and have worked on their upcoming collaborative album, I Said I Love You First.

The album consists of many love and spicier songs. The couple has released three songs from the album and the latest is the sauciest yet. In their own right, the two have dominated the music business. The 32-year-old singer has been singing since Disney, while Blanco has been a music producer and in the music business since 2007.
However, Blanco has not been in many high-profile relationships like his fiancée. In 2019, he dated actress Elsie Hewitt but has been with Gomez for a while. On the other hand, Gomez has had plenty of public relationships with singers Bieber and The Weeknd and a brief fling with DJ Zedd.

The lovebirds’ relationship began in June 2023. However, Gomez waited six months before she confirmed the dating rumors. Guess that’s the safe point for celebrity relationships.
2023 – The beginning of love
The Hands to Myself singer confirmed her relationship in Instagram comments in December 2023. She interacted with the celebrity news page @popfactions which had a post that said, “Selena Gomez is Rumored to Be Dating Producer Benny Blanco.” She liked the post and on another post where they updated Gomez’s relationship status, she commented, “Facts.” Well, there is a way to confirm you’re off the market!
Also that month, Gomez shared a photo of a ring with the letter B on it. Her ring was a stunning 14k-carat gold, fans thought the ‘B’ stood for her boyfriend’s initials. As mid-December rolled around, Blanco confirmed their relationship by posting a photo of the singer on his Instagram Stories.
In her first official photo with Blanco, Gomez posts a photo dump which included a black and white photo of the two kissing. Throughout the rest of December, the two continued to share PDA-filled pictures and hints to each other on their social media.
2024 – Relationship established and engagement
The musical couple kicked off the year with Blanco sharing snaps of Gomez smiling on his Instagram Stories. The two were spotted out for one of the first times watching a Lakers game in early January. That month they attended the Golden Globes together and Gomez shared photos of the event.
As the month of love rolled around, Gomez continued to share PDA pics of her and Blanco in various forms of embrace. On 12 February, she shared her first post dedicated to Blanco with the caption, “My bes fwend.” Vomit, or adorable? In response, Blanco wrote in the comments, “Das my bes fwend”.
The love continued on Valentine’s Day with a similar tribute posted on Gomez’s Instagram Stories that read, “I love you.”
Moving into spring on 8 March Gomez posted a birthday tribute to Blanco for his 36th with a series of photos. The month after, the PDA and public snaps continued. Again the two were spotted laughing at a basketball game in April. Did someone say date night?

In May 2024, Blanco had his first candid interview about his relationship. He spoke indirectly about Gomez. The 37-year-old spoke on The Howard Stern Show and said, “That’s like my next goal on the box. I have a lot of godkids; I’ve got a ton of nephews. It’s my thing—I love being around kids!”
Sounds like children are on the horizon. A year into their relationship, the two shared photos from 4 July together where once again, they were canoodling. Do these two ever stop?
In mid-July, the two played a game with a viral TikTok sound for couples, which was a game of Who Is Most Likely To? The video was posted to Gomez’s TikTok.
On Gomez’s birthday on 22 July, the couple shared loving snaps with Blanco wishing his girlfriend a happy birthday in one, and Gomez calling him, “the love of my life.”
Stepping into the public
Summer continued, and the two gushed over each other in various lovey-dovey photos posted on Gomez’s Instagram. However, in September, things took a turn when Gomez also spoke candidly about Blanco with Vanity Fair. Gushing over her man, she said, “He’s just been a light. A complete light in my life. He’s my best friend. I love telling him everything.”
Later in September, Blanco joined Gomez at the Emmys. She was nominated for her hit show Only Murders in The Building. Moving into fall, the couple coordinated their Halloween costumes. The singer dressed up as Alice from Alice in Wonderland while Blanco blended in dressed as the Mad Hatter. You know it’s official when you’re coordinating costumes.
When November came, Gomez again got candid about her boyfriend. Talking to The Hollywood Reporter, Gomez said she feels “safe” with Blanco, so she shares photos of him. But there is still “so much of [her] relationship people don’t see”. Also in November, she expressed how “proud” she was of Blanco and his Sexiest Man Alive title from People. On 13 December, Gomez announced that she and Blanco were engaged. In a photo posted to Instagram, she showed off the marquise diamond ring with the caption, “Forever begins now”. Affectionately Blanco commented back, “That’s my wife.” We hope it is, we hope it is!

2025 – Working together on an album
Newly engaged and in bliss, Gomez and Blanco began the new year with the 2025 Golden Globes. In March, Blanco again joined Gomez Oscars. Award season was big for the singer this year, as her movie Emilia Pérez was nominated. Despite the controversy, the film swept the board at the Golden Globes. At the Oscars? Not so much.
A week later, Gomez posted a photo on 8 March again for Blanco’s birthday captioned: “I’m not sure what I did to deserve you but damn am I glad you were born.. happy birthday baby”.
That brings us up to date on 14 March when the two released their romance collab, Sunset Blvd. Sunset Blvd is inspired by the location where the two had their first date in LA. In the music video, Blanco is ‘eaten’ by Gomez.
