Daredevil: Born Again season 1 is still delivering thrills to fans, but already work is underway on the next season, with two stars confirmed to join the cast.
It was already confirmed some time ago that work on season 2 of the Disney+ show would begin while season one was still airing. Filming is under way in New York and, as part of that, we are now getting confirmations on who is joining the cast.
Recurring role
Deadline revealed that Lily Taylor is joining the cast in a recurring role. While there was no confirmation from Disney+ on this, nor any word of her character’s name it is thought that she will play a political enemy of Wilson Fisk/Kingpin (played by Vincent D’Onfrio).
Taylor, 58, has been seen on the big and small screen for more than 35 years. She has appeared in a wide range of movies, including Mystic Pizza (1988), High Fidelity (2000) and The Conjuring (2013).
On TV, she had had notable roles in shows such as X-Files in 1998 – she was nominated for an Emmy for her portrayal of Marty Glenn – Almost Human (2013-14) and, most recently, Outer Range (2022-24).
Matthew Lillard in Daredevil: Born Again
Matthew Lillard is also joining the season two cast of Daredevil: Born Again. Again, details of his character name what their role will be in the show are being kept a closely guarded secret.
This comes in a busy period for Lillard. For instance, he is resurrecting his character from the original Scream film, Stu Macher, for the upcoming Scream 7. Read more about his character here.
Lillard is also reprising his role as the villainous William Afton in horror sequel Five Nights at Freddy’s 2. Afton was the main antagonist in the first film, which was a surprise hit back in 2023, and is returning – perhaps surprisingly, given the movie’s ending – for the sequel, which is set to be out later this year. Daredevil: Born Again is the continuation series from the Netflix original. Charlie Cox has reprised his role as Matt Murdock, the visually impaired guy who is a lawyer by day and vigilante by night. Navigating his way through the New York criminal underworld, he is pitched against Fisk and others.
