Currently, Euphoria season 3 is filming, and meanwhile, Sydney Sweeney was spotted on set wearing a wedding dress. At the same time, Sweeney, 27, continues to portray Cassie Howard on the HBO drama. In general, the show follows teenagers who struggle with addiction, relationships, identity, and mental health. Additionally, it stars Zendaya, Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, and Alexa Demie, among other cast members.

Back in 2022, season 2 premiered, and since then, fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of season 3. When it comes to Sweeney’s character, Cassie, season 2 did not end well. By the finale, she found herself single, broken, and friendless—all because she pursued her best friend Maddy’s ex-boyfriend, Nate.

Now that new pictures from the set have leaked, fans are speculating about who Cassie is marrying—and whether she’s getting married at all. With that in mind, let’s break it down.

Will Cassie get married in Euphoria season 3?

In summary, we still don’t know the truth. Once again, Cassie appearing in a wedding dress could easily be part of a dream sequence. For example, in season 2, Cassie imagined a future with Nate that featured a baby and a picture-perfect marriage. However, deep down, she knows Nate isn’t a good person, especially since he emotionally and physically abused Maddy and manipulated her.

Naturally, the wedding rumors started after leaked set photos surfaced. To see for yourself, here are the photos:

Also visible in the footage is actress Alanna Ubach, who plays Cassie’s mother, Suze Howard. Now, if the wedding weren’t real, why would Ubach be on set? After all, if it were just another one of Cassie’s fantasies, no one else would be there.

Ideally, in a perfect world, Cassie would live alone, isolated with Nate, with no one around to make her question her decision.

What if Cassie isn’t marrying Nate?

And here’s another possibility: aside from Nate, Cassie could be marrying someone else. Throughout seasons 1 and 2, she frequently struggles with insecurity and constantly seeks validation from men—something she may continue to grapple with as an adult. Back in 2023, Variety reported that creator Sam Levinson proposed a five-year time jump for season 3, which has since been confirmed in some capacity.

Given the significant time jump, Cassie may be marrying someone she meets in the future. Whether she’s doing it for the right reasons or not remains unclear. Much like Pretty Little Liars, the show could introduce new characters as romantic partners for the core cast after the time jump.

How did the internet react to the photos of Sydney Sweeney?

Across the board, fans were not happy with the set leaks.

She can’t marry Nate, fans said

Responding to the leaked photos, one surprised fan wrote on X, “Oh, she really marries Nate….”

Disappointedly, another fan remarked, “Season 3 looks like a fever dream already”.

Completing the trio, a third upset fan expressed their frustration at missing Cassie from season 1.

The C and N initials

Meanwhile, one eagle-eyed fan spotted a clue that Cassie could be marrying Nate. The walkway Cassie is walking on appears to show the initials C and N. Yikes, say it ain’t so!

A fan said they couldn’t wait to see the drama play out. “In Euphoria, the wedding dress isn’t about marriage, it’s about a new round of trauma in 4 K. Waiting to see who faints first – her or the audience,” they wrote in a post.

Someone else heckled the idea of Cassie marrying Nate and remarked, “And he’s STILL gonna be talking to Jules”.

Before season 1, Nate had a brief relationship with Jules (Hunter Schaffer). Nate knew Jules was transgender, but he struggled to confront his sexuality. Hints towards Nate not being straight are sprinkled throughout the show, even his ex-girlfriend explicitly questions him about it. Ultimately, Nate and Jules have a complicated relationship as Jules recognizes how abusive Nate is.

Regardless of the photos, many fans also speculated that Cassie would be dreaming about marriage rather than it being a real scene. “It’s probably a dream she has,” one user suggested.
