One unlikely star was confirmed to return for Emily in Paris season 5, but it’s Camille Razat who will not be returning for the new season. Razat, 31, spoke out on her exit, confirming it on Instagram. Emily in Paris is about a marketing executive, Emily Cooper (Lily Collins), who gets hired for a temporary contract for the Savoir marketing agency in Paris.

In the Netflix comedy drama, Razat played a character of the same name, a socialite and Gabriel’s (Lucas Bravo) long-term girlfriend. For the first few seasons, Camille was a fan favorite character because she was sweet, warm, welcomed Emily into her life, and called her out on her affair with Gabriel.

However, things took a turn in season 3 where her character did some out-of-character and bizarre things. Additionally, Camille’s role was greatly cut back in season 4, which led fans to speculate she’d be leaving soon.

But what did the actress say about not returning for Emily in Paris season 5?

In a carousel of photos posted on her Instagram from the set of the show, Razat explained her decision to leave.

“After an incredible journey, I’ve made the decision to step away from Emily in Paris,” her caption began.

She continued, “It has been a truly wonderful experience, one filled with growth, creativity, and unforgettable memories. I’m deeply grateful to @starmandarren and the entire team at @Netflix and @paramountpics for their trust and for giving me the opportunity to bring Camille to life and leaving the door open for her return, as she will always be a part of the Emily In Paris world.”

The 31-year-old says her reason for leaving is that Camille’s storyline has “naturally come to an end”, and she wants to explore other opportunities.

Then she discusses her other endeavors, recently wrapping filming a series called Nero for Netflix and Station Girls for Disney+, as well as launching her production company, Tazar Production.

Towards the end of her post, she thanks the cast, crew, and the fans for their support.

Did her co-stars react?

Yes, many of Razat’s co-stars wished her well in her decision not to return for Emily in Paris season 5.

Lucien Laviscont, who plays Emily’s love interest Alfie on the show, said in the comments on her Instagram, “From day one, you’ve been my rider on this show. Your passion for storytelling, your dark sense of humour, your unwavering ability to stay true to yourself, when everything’s pushing you in a different direction. You’re special, Camille and I feel absolutely honoured to of been able to dance with you these past seasons. Keep on shining. I’m going to miss laughing with you. I’m cheering you on in everything you do.”

Emily herself chimed in with a short and sweet message that read, “Love you sister. It’s been a wild ride and an absolute pleasure. You’re a rockstar. So proud of you”.

Perhaps one of the most heartbreaking was the simple tribute that Bravo, who hadthe most scenes with the actress, shared.

Finally, Ashley Park, who plays Emily’s best friend and singer Mindy, said, “Love you so much, always proud of you ❤️”

Are there any other co-stars not returning for season 5?

Thankfully, everyone else is returning, at least as far as we know. However, previously, Bravo made headlines when he contemplated not returning for the Darren Star show.

On playing Gabriel, Bravo remarked in an interview with IndieWire in October 2024 that it wasn’t “fun” to play him anymore.

He elaborated, ” The ‘sexy chef’ was very much part of me in Season 1, and we grew apart season after season because of the choices he makes and because of the direction they make him take. I’ve never been so far away from him.”

“It makes me question if I want to be part of season 5 — because my contract ends at season 4. I want to see if Gabriel gets back to his fun, cheeky, playful, alive self,” the actor admitted.

Don’t fret, because Bravo is officially confirmed to return for season five. Fans would be distraught if he didn’t, given that his character is integral to the main relationship of the show.
