Guy Gardner has been revealed in the new Superman trailer, giving DC fans their first look at director James Gunn’s new Green Lantern.
Played by Nathan Fillon, Gardner appears very briefly about three-quarters of the way through the teaser, boasting a rather impressive blonde bowl haircut.
Before we even have a chance to appreciate this bold do, Gunn cuts to a shot of Gardner using his Green Lantern powers, seemingly firing them at something in a blast of green light.

However, it’s Superman who (rightfully) takes centre stage in the movie’s debut trailer. However, when we first meet David Corenswet’s new hero, he’s not looking great.
Crash landing into a snowy wasteland, a battered and bruised Man of Steel is forced to call upon his trusty dog Krypto to help him out. After blasting out an almighty whistle, the super-powered pooch comes racing to his aid.
It’s heartwarming stuff.
The trailer also gives us a glimpse at Rachel Brosnahan’s Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor, Edi Gathegi’s Mister Terrific and also Corenswet’s take on the mild-mannered Clark Kent.

What do we know about Green Lantern Guy Gardner?
While much of the major plot lines for Gunn’s Superman rebook are currently under wraps, we do know a little bit about Gardner’s Green Lantern.
Firstly, he’s played by Fillon, an actor who has appeared in many Gunn movies including his first movie Slither and his most recent Marvel feature Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. His bowl haircut is something ripped directly from the comics, with his Green Lantern described as “less than heroic” and “obnoxious”.

For those unaware, Green Lanterns are essentially the super-powered peacekeepers of the DC universe, each drawing their power from rings. Famously (or infamously, depending on who you ask), Ryan Reynolds played Green Lantern Hal Jordan in the widely-panned 2011 feature film.
Other famous Green Lantern’s in DC lore include John Stewart. We know that Guy Gardner will not be the primary Green Lantern featured in any of Gunn’s planned reboots.
Who else features in the Superman trailer?
In addition to Lex Luthor and Lois Lane, we also get a quick look at Mister Fantastic, played by Twilight star Edi Gathegi. Real name Michael Holt, Mister Fantastic’s powers come from his superior intellect and ability to invent things.
Isabella Merced’s Hawkgirl is also briefly seen in the Superman trailer. She’s a character known for utilising many different weapons, with one featured during her brief moment in Gunn’s trailer.
Merced has previously played a super-powered part in Sony’s Marvel spin-off Madam Webb.
