- Mark Zuckerberg shared 4th July video on Instagram
- Clip of the Meta chief surfing while sipping a beer quickly went viral
- Video has gone massively viral with commentators making own jokes
Plenty of celebrities celebrated Independence Day yesterday with a video uploaded to social media, but none did it in quite such bizarre fashion as Meta chief Mark Zuckerberg.
Zuckerberg uploaded a short video to Instagram with a simple caption of “Happy birthday, America!” but it’s the contents of the video that has got the internet talking.
In it, Zuck is seen seemingly riding a surfboard while sipping a beer, wearing a tuxedo and carrying an American flag, with Bruce Springsteen’s anti-Vietnam anthem ‘Born in the USA’ playing.
It is an interesting video, and not your average CEO take on Independence Day. Although it isn’t the first time he has posted a video like this – three years ago he posted one of himself wakeboarding while holding the US flag.
Of course, the video has gone hugely viral and commentators have had their say.
One commentator on Pubity’s Insta feed speculated: “He Googled “what humans do on the Fourth of July.” Some speculated on whether the clip was real or AI-generated, while another saw potential for this clip: “Bro wanted to drop a new meme template”.
