- Producers have dropped a teaser from production of the fifth season
- Still no release date yet for what is said to be the final season
- Huge reaction online from fans of the show
Fans of Stranger Things have been starved of updates recently, but now a new teaser has dropped that gives a big hint about the show returning to its roots in a certain way.
Familiar locations
The two-minute clip goes behind the scenes on the set of the Netflix show, showing many of the familiar locations from the first four seasons, as well as the cast returning to the set. One, Millie Bobbie Brown, who plays 11, makes everyone feel old by saying that she was 10 when she started on the show, and is now turning 20.
But it is the hints contained in the clip that has got fans excited. We see shots of Dustin, Mike, Will and Lucas – the four characters who were central to the first season and who spent much of season four apart – back together, and Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike, says that he is “excited to have scenes with the original four.”
Another shot showed Jamie Campbell Bower, who plays Vecna, heading towards the makeup department. This indicates that Vecna will be back – at the end of season four the character battled Eleven and appeared to escape at its conclusion.
No release date
It also appears that season five will pick up straight after the events at the conclusion of season four.
But what wasn’t revealed is when the show will drop on Netflix. It has already been two years since season four was aired and it seems the wait could extend into 2025.
The reaction to the video – released to coincide with the eighth anniversary of the first episode of season one airing – online has been huge, with the clip being viewed more than a million times on YouTube. The reaction has been largely positive and seems to have whetted fans’ appetite even more. Now only if we could get a release date…
