Here is everything we know so far about the Met Gala 2025.
When is it?
The annual star-studded event will take place on 5 May. It follows the tradition of throwing it on the first Monday of the fifth month of the year.
What is the theme of the Met Gala 2025?
Vogue recently revealed the hotly anticipated news that the dress code theme was ‘Tailored for You’.

As usual, the outfit direction comes from the exhibition related to the party, which this year is titled ‘Superfine: Tailoring Black Style’.
The magazine also said the advice was “purposefully designed to provide guidance and invite creative interpretation,” a disclaimer that explains why some guests appear to go completely away from the brief.
What about the related Met exhibit?
Opening five days later on 10 May, the Costume Institute’s annual display seeks to be “a cultural and historical examination of the Black dandy, from the figure’s emergence in Enlightenment Europe during the 18th century to today’s incarnations in cities around the world.”

It seeks to update the definition of a “dandy”, a term first used in the 18th century, to denote “a man devoted to style” in pop culture.
“Dandyism offered Black people an opportunity to use clothing, gesture, irony, and wit to transform their given identities and imagine new ways of embodying political and social possibilities,” the announcement continues.
Who are the co-chairs?
NBA legend LeBron James has been named the honourary chair of the gala.

Pharrell Williams, Colman Domingo, A$AP Rocky and Lewis Hamilton have also been revealed to be on the planning committee.
