With the new Formula 1 season screeching into view this weekend, it felt like an appropriate time for Joseph Kosiniski’s F1 movie to have its trailer drop.

To a rapturous online reception from fans who have been eagerly anticipating footage of the film, the Brad Pitt led picture’s trailer has already raced past 10m views across YouTube and social media in less than 24 hours.

As many of you will have already noticed across the last 12 months or so, Brad Pitt has been a regular attendee of F1 races across the circuit. The Oscar winner leads a star studded cast as Sonny Hayes – a former Formula 1 driver who retired in the ’90s following a horrendous crash, but is coaxed out of retirement years later to mentor a rookie prodigy.

EVERYTHING WE KNOW ABOUT BRAD PITT’S F1 MOVIE

But who else is taking to the tracks with Pitt from June 27? Here’s a run down of the F1 cast.

Who Is In The New F1 Movie?

Alongside Pitt as the aforementioned rookie prodigy is Damson Idris, who plays Joshua ‘Noah’ Pearce. Idris’ other major roles include starring in FX drama Snowfall and Netflix sci-fi action flick Outside The Wire.

Pitt’s fellow Oscar winner Javier Bardem plays Ruben Cervantes – team owner of APXGP, who he convinces Pitt’s Sonny Hayes to come out of retirement to race for – in a pairing that sees the duo star alongisde each other for the first time since Ridley Scott’s 2013 crime thriller The Counselor.

Irish actress Kerry Condon (Banshees of Inisherin, Three Billboards…) stars as Kate, APXGP’s Technical Director while The Crown’s Emmy winning Tobias Menzies will play the character Banning, although not much has been shared about his role as of yet.

Other notable names in supporting roles are Boardwalk Empire star Shea Wigham, who plays Chip Hart, British actress Sarah Niles, who will play Noah’s mother and Kim Bodnia, star of heavily acclaimed Nordic noir drama The Bridge.

Of course, you can’t really put together a film called F1 and not have some of the actual drivers themselves taking part. So racing fans will be delighted to see the likes of Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen, George Russell, Sergio Pérez, Fernando Alonso, Lando Norris, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz Jr on screen, among countless other cameos from official teams.

With reactions across social media clamouring for more footage, it’s a pretty surefire sign cinema screens are going to be packed when Pitt and co pull into theaters this summer.
