Another year, another celebrity drama scandal. Well, sort of. A seven-part series has gone viral on TikTok that alleges the Rhode founder Hailey Bieber (previously Baldwin) copied her boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez with outfits and mannerisms. Bieber has been married to singer Justin Bieber since 2018 and they have one son together.
Meanwhile, Gomez is currently engaged to music producer and songwriter Benny Blanco, she has been with him since 2023. Infamously, Gomez and Bieber dated between 2010 and March 2018 when they broke up for the last time. In June 2018 it was believed that Bieber and the Rhode founder were back on.

This love triangle has gripped fans for years and now the newly viral series has put the spotlight back on Bieber’s wife. Fans of Gomez have flooded the comment sections on Bieber’s social media with negative comments relating to the viral series. The 27-year-old hasn’t spoken publicly about the drama.
Hailey Bieber liked a shady post about Selena Gomez, TikToker claims
In March 2025, Bieber found herself in hot water when accused of liking a shady TikTok about Gomez and Blanco. The user posted a video lightheartedly mocking a photo shoot that the couple did with the caption, “This is the worst.”
The user followed up with a video of a screenshot claiming Bieber liked the post. However, it appears the video showing the alleged screenshot has been deleted. In a statement to Page Six, a representative for Bieber denied the screenshot and said, “This never happened.” Bieber’s rep continued, “This entire story has been fabricated by a content creator looking to capitalize off of an old, tired narrative.”

The drama between Gomez and Bieber supposedly goes back a few years. First, let’s explain the resurfaced seven-part series. Chronicling the complicated Bieber, Baldwin, and Gomez timeline, the video by Internet Oddities alleges instances where Bieber copied Gomez’s outfits, words, and mannerisms.
Strangely the video also alleges Bieber would follow her future husband around, showing footage of her at premieres and events where he was.
Notably, Bieber’s father is actor Stephen Baldwin, so it wouldn’t be hard for a young Bieber to get into events. However, this video takes it further and suggests Baldwin had an orchestrated plan to get Bieber to become hers.

The beginning
- 2011 – Bieber posts online about how much she loves the couple
- 2015 – Bieber is first linked to Bieber romantically, they date briefly and split in March 2016.
- 2016 – He is not linked to Gomez at this time. Bieber briefly dated model Sophie Richie in September 2016. Meanwhile, Bieber dates Drake and others at this time
- October 2017 – March 2018 – Bieber and Gomez date again and break for the last time. Bieber dates Shawn Mendes from late 2017 until May 2018.
- June 2018 – Bieber and Hailey get back together and get engaged in July, they marry in September.
- In October 2019, Gomez released her song Lose You to Love Me which talks about being replaced in two months and moving on
First instance of a ‘shady’ post
- On 23 October 2019, Bieber posted a screenshot on her story of the song ‘I’ll Kill You’ by Summer Walker. She denies the story having any significance
- On 24 October, Gomez urges fans to “be kind” but doesn’t name Bieber in reference to her statment
2022 – Drama 2.0, or not?
- Bieber asks Selenators to “leave me alone” and to stop leaving comments on her social media about Bieber and Gomez in April 2022
- Gomez shared a makeup routine video while Bieber had shortly shared one before her. Fans thought this was shady, but Gomez deleted the video and denied it.
- On Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast in September 2022 Bieber denies being with her husband when he was “in a relationship with anybody”.
- On 16 October 2022, Bieber and Gomez pose for a photo at an event together
2023 – Eyebrow Gate and another feud?
- In January 2023 Bieber posted a video lip-syncing to the sound that says, “I’m not saying she deserved it, but I’m saying God’s timing is always right.”
- The following month, Gomez shut down anybody trying to drag her into drama
- Bieber responded and said the video wasn’t shady, and was just the result of a girls night, and was “not directed at anyone”
- A video resurfaced of Bieber shading Gomez’s friend Taylor Swift. In the comments, Gomez wrote: “So sorry, my best friend is and continues to be one of the best in the game.”
- The Rare Beauty founder posted a video and said she accidentally laminated her brows. On social media, Kylie Jenner posted a photo of Bieber’s eyebrows with the caption, “This was an accident?” This happens in February 2023
- Jenner denied the post being shady to Gomez, and the singer agreed.
- While Gomez was on her social media break, Bieber posted the song Calm Down by Rema to her story. Notably, she uses the version where Gomez isn’t featured.
2025 -The shady TikTok allegations
- March 2025 – Bieber is accused of liking the shady TikTok, which her representative denies. Gomez hasn’t responded, and the drama seems to have died.
