The good news is that no, it’s not just you. It appears that the popular music streaming platform is indeed experiencing problems today.

According to the website DownDetector, over 20,000 outage reports have been flagged so far – and that number looks like it’s creeping upwards.
The same website reveals that the bulk of issues seem to be encountered via the Spotify app. 67% of users are currently experiencing streaming problems when trying to access their music via this method.

Meanwhile, 17% of users have reported issues with Spotify’s website. Most of the problems seem to revolve around a users’ ability to access the music they love.

Yes, Spotify does appear to have some gremlins in the works at the moment. The app confirmed as much via an official X account dedicated to their current status.
“We’re aware of some issues right now and are checking them out!” explained the team behind the app’s account.

Unfortunately, they didn’t go into any specifics about what might be causing their issues or when they might be fixed.
Some users in the DownDetector comments have tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling it but unfortunately that hasn’t fixed the issue.
“Yep, Definitely down, deleted the app & when I try to log on all it says is that something went wrong and to try again,” said one commenter.
“Keep gaining and losing connection,” said another.
Meanwhile, a third pointed out that it’s a good time for some extra R&R.
“Can use Spotify on the App no issues but won’t let me stream to my Alexa! How annoying! I guess the housework will have to wait!”

Naturally, many users have reacted with humor to Spotify’s current playback problems.
“Stop sabotaging @LadyGaga” joked one user, with another adding “Apple Music would never”.
This Apple Music-related threat was backed up by another music fan who also needed their hit fix – and fast.
