Lilly Collins is confirmed to return. She was a part of the season 5 renewal announcement. Netflix released an image of Collins sipping an espresso and smiling when they told the news.
With Collins set to return, it’s safe to assume many other faces will be returning for season 5 but who will join Emily back in Paris? Read on to find out…
Emily in Paris season 5 – who is returning?

Emily in Paris creator Darren Star told Tudum that “Emily’s going to have a presence in Rome,”. He added: “It doesn’t mean she’s not going to be in Paris, but she’s going to have a presence in Rome.”
We can assume that with part of season 5 taking place in Rome, Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini) will return to continue his storyline with Emily. Emily and Marcello were a focal point for season 4 part 2 so we don’t doubt we will see their romance blossom.
Star confirmed as much, saying: “I feel like they have a real spark and a real connection and a real romantic connection. A lot of that’s going to continue to play out next season.” Long live Marcemily!
Will Gabriel be back?

Also important to the Rome storyline is Gabriel (Lucas Bravo), who ended season 4 in Rome to get Emily back. However, Bravo’s return to season 5 is up in the air with recent comments he made about playing Gabriel. He deems playing the role as ‘not fun’ anymore.
In Season 4, Gabriel faced challenges in his personal life, transitioning from being a dad to not, from being with Emily to being single, losing his Michelin star, and regaining it within 10 episodes.
Of course, Gabriel is a big part of the show and his relationship with Emily would likely be a huge part of season 5 if he chooses to return. Nothing has been confirmed yet but we will keep you updated.

Other key players in Emily in Paris are also set to return. Mindy (Ashley Park) shined in Season 4 with some big moments, even though she didn’t make it to Eurovision. She accepted an offer to judge Chinese Popstar, setting up a potential storyline where she could be away for much of Season 5. However, it’s unlikely Ashley Park won’t return—she’s Emily’s BFF and the show’s comedic relief.
Additionally, Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) tackled monumental moments in Season 4, exploring monogamy and exposing a predator at one of Paris’ biggest companies. With her character arc still unfolding, we expect her to return with a splash in Season 5.
Which recurring characters could return?

Other recurring characters could have a chance to return in season 5. With Emily splitting her time between two cities, there’s more room for others to step into the spotlight.
Genevieve (Thalia Besson), Luc (Bruno Gouery), and Julian (Samuel Arnold) might take care of the Paris clients while Emily focuses on the Rome ones. Genevieve could play a significant role, possibly as a love or work rival for Emily or even a new challenge for Sylvie.
As for Emily’s ex, Alfie (Lucien Laviscount), his return seems unlikely. He barely appeared in season 4, ended things with Emily, and started a new relationship. While it would be great to see him again, there’s no clear reason for him to come back.
Regardless, Star loves the handsome Brit. Star told Glamour, “We definitely will want to see Alfie next season. And I think there’s still a question mark [about] who he’s dating.” Here’s hoping he returns.
Another ex, Camille (Camille Razat), faces an uncertain role in season 5. Gabriel’s ex wrapped up most of her storyline in season 4. Starr told MSN he wouldn’t rule out her return but didn’t share details about plans to continue her story. This likely means Camille’s ex, Sofia (Melia Kreiling), also won’t return, at least not in a major role.
When will Emily in Paris season 5 come out?
Filming for season 5 won’t start until spring, so it won’t be released anytime soon. Netflix hasn’t announced a release date yet, but if they stick to their usual two-year gap between seasons, season 5 will likely arrive in 2026. Bon Voyage until then everyone!
